Just two years ago, CHEO celebrated 50 years of treating children, who come to their hospital not just from all corners of Ontario but western Quebec and Nunavut too!
CHEO is a product of grassroots activism— much like our own organization H.O.P.E. —and was founded by the caretakers of children who didn’t have quickly-available access to specialized pediatric healthcare. Now, thanks to the tireless work of hospital staff and activist volunteers, what started as a simple hospital has become the biggest (and perhaps best, according to Forbes!) pediatric care facility in Canada.
To mark those 50 years of service, CHEO Foundation launched their most successful fundraising campaign to date, called Kids These Days.
Kids These Days empowers Canadian children to organize fundraising campaigns in their own communities. This not only benefits kids just like them, but also builds a strong foundation of empathy, generosity, and togetherness for the next generation. This is the same program receiving funds raised from Lone Star HOPE Volleyball SummerFest 2026!
