IMPORTANT MESSAGE from Big Rig Brewery presents HOPE Volleyball SummerFest to all participants/volunteers/attendees
Over our 36 years of giving back to the Ottawa community, we have always prided ourselves on “Helping Other People Everywhere”, not only to the over 110 local charities that we have supported, but also continually providing a fun, clean, rewarding & safe environment to all of those people who attend every year. We also believe in the importance of, not only making decisions in the best interests of the above listed, but ensuring that we continue our reputation of responsibility in our community. The importance of having the support of all of our initiatives with putting on an event that provides: great live music, opportunities to volunteer & give back, providing a safe & fun space to play volleyball at any skill-level, partnering opportunities for vendors & sponsors to highlight their businesses and above all else, bringing focus & financial support to the charities we choose annually, has been the entire basis of our existence & success.
We have decided to defer our ‘Going Greener’ initiative for our 2018 event to allow for further consultation with our participants and the City of Ottawa. Please watch your emails for you to provide your feedback post-event about ways for us to “Go Greener”.
We are asking, as we do every year, to bring a refillable water bottle to fill up at any of our Aqua Haulics water stations and there will be pop, water & Powerade available for purchase from any of the HOPE vendors & in any of the licensed areas. All bottles, coolers and vessels containing liquid will be opened by security & all alcohol will be confiscated. Reduce the amount of plastic bottles & waste that you bring with you, and if you have to, please use the clearly marked recyclable containers stationed across the site.
We very much appreciate your support of our event, whether this is your first year or 30th, and know that we are a not-for-profit charitable event, that receives no funding from the City of Ottawa, Provincial or Federal Governments but rely on the support of our sponsors and to you, as our participants, to continue to keep “Helping Other People Everywhere” for years to come.
Thank you for your continued support, please sign your waivers & see you at the beach on July 14th!!
The refill stations are free to use and helps minimize event waste. This year, with the help of AQUAHAULICS INC. , we will be eliminating 24,000 plastic water bottles from our site! Help us keep Mooney’s Bay a beautiful place for all!
